Reminder: Boulder County Consortium of Cities soliciting citizen opinion
If you haven't done so, take a moment to fill out the on-line survey at
www.co.boulder.co.us/trafficjam
to express your opinions about proposed transportation corridor projects and funding alternatives. The proposed funding includes sales and property taxes to support project alternatives such as additional auto lanes, HOV lanes, and transit improvements for the major routes in the County.
Reminder: Table-Mesa Improvement Project from Broadway to Moorhead. There will be an upcoming Public Meeting in mid-late February to review this project. Look for public notice announcement in early Feb. or check Transportation Dept. web site or call 441-3266 for more information.
The city says: The Table Mesa Improvement project will extend from Broadway to Moorhead between the Martin Acres and Majestic Heights neighborhoods.
As currently proposed, this project will include:
- reconstruction of the street pavement
- installation of on-street bike lanes (both sides)
- sidewalk reconstruction and widening
- pedestrian crossing treatments
- transit facility improvements.
The scope of the project does not include:
- evaluation of the "missing (roadway) link" from South Foothills Parkway to South Broadway.
- noise abatement options.
- left turn lanes.
Reminder: North Boulder ‘Missing Bike Links Project'
Mark Richert with the "Sierra Bike Trans Committee" is compiling a list of bike lane needs in North Boulder. He would like suggestions and comments sent to: mrichert@mail.bcbr.com
Note: One of Mark's goals is to instruct the Planning Dept. to make the development of the Elks plot contingent on a bike lane from 26th to the Four Mile creek path - this is the ONLY bike-ped underpass on 28th north of CU, and that the Planning Dept. should consider this a possible alternative to a road across the property.
Reminder: Critical Mass
Brent Barkett, a coordinator of local Critical Mass is (currently) building a critical mass e-mail distribution list. If you are interested in having your address on the list, please send a message to him at bbarkett@haglerbailly.com"
