Unofficial Mini BBC 'Hot' Projects List:
Although we did not have enough time to discuss these items and any proposal for a BBC 'hot' projects list for the City, the following mini-list was compiled from the comments forwarded by several people. This is not necessarily a comprehensive or prioritized list, but is a starting point for continuing discussion and negotiations with the City:- Completion of 30th Street On-Street Bike Lanes.
- Completion of Pearl Street On-Street Bike Lanes.
- Goose Creek connection from dead-end at '29th' through and under 28th St. and points west.
- "Soccer Field Path" between 47th and Cottonwood trail (under B&N RR.) currently dead-ends.
- "Elks Club Path" (extension of above) ends after 28th. Lacks connection through Parks&Rec. property to 26th and points west.
(Big Note on Elks Property: City Planning is attempting to push through a new street piggy-backed onto the proposed Marriot assisted living facility on the Elks property. The City's suggested layout would include four 90-degree turns and surround the Elks swimming pool and parking area by a street. The bike path is an important link to 47th. but no road should be super-imposed on the Assisted Living center.
- Walnut east from 38th St. under Foothills to business park and connection to Boulder Creek Path. The existing, good, bike-lane on Walnut 'evaporates' at 38th where the street shoulder ends and the pavement edge becomes ragged.
- Old Iris under Foothills at Burlington Northern underpass
- Burlington Northern Trail from 47th to Pearl. And 32nd.
- Valmont Underpass at 'Junk-Yard' and connection to Creek Path / Old-Pearl.
- Chicken-farm trail to Valmont / Airport Rd and 63rd.
- 63rd Bike Lanes from Jay south.
- Valmont extension segment over 'old-Valmont-bridge' where Pearl-Parkway links in.
- Cherryvale bike lanes: (County) Baseline to S.Bldr Road, and more importantly to Marshall Rd. (note bridge over 36)
